The 2019 Singapore roadshow highlighted Asia’s strong culture of standards and trust-based verification. Participants were less interested in broad concepts or general benefits, and more focused on measurable operating conditions and KPIs. In other words, decisions were driven by what can be quantified: under which conditions performance is reproducible, which parameters influence stability, and how operational risks can be reduced through a structured validation approach.
I shared ELODE’s introduction requirements in a checklist-style, data-centered framework: power and safety readiness (electrical infrastructure, interlocks, protection standards), conductivity (salinity) ranges and potential power impact, pretreatment conditions (thickening/primary dewatering status, viscosity and stickiness), and operator readiness (routine checks, monitoring and data logging). From there, we aligned expected outcomes with a practical pathway: requirements first, then test design, KPI verification, and finally scale-up. This enabled a disciplined discussion not only about performance, but also about economics and long-term operability.
Singapore is not “slow to decide”—it moves quickly once validation is complete. The market appears cautious because verification is taken seriously; however, once KPIs and risk controls are confirmed, execution accelerates. This experience pushed us to further standardize our roadshow materials and technical communication, shifting from “explaining technology” to providing structured, decision-ready inputs such as standard data packages, procedures, and checklists.
