BLUEWIN Participates in ENVEX 2026: Highlighting the Importance of Sludge Reduction Technology in Korea’s Environmental Industry
From May 20 to 22, 2026, ENVEX 2026, the International Environmental Industry Technology & Green Energy Exhibition, was held at COEX in Seoul for three days. ENVEX is one of Korea’s leading environmental exhibitions, bringing together technologies and companies from various sectors of the environmental industry, including water treatment, waste management, air pollution control, energy, and resource circulation.
Following its participation in Water Korea earlier this year, BLUEWIN joined ENVEX 2026 as its second domestic exhibition of the year. Continuing from last year, BLUEWIN once again introduced its sludge treatment and volume reduction technologies at ENVEX and had the opportunity to communicate directly with both domestic and international customers.
During the exhibition, BLUEWIN’s booth welcomed a wide range of visitors, including overseas buyers who came to see the company’s technology firsthand, as well as major Korean environmental companies, engineering firms, plant industry representatives, and operators of sewage and wastewater treatment facilities. Many visitors showed strong interest in BLUEWIN’s ELODE technology and sludge reduction system as a practical solution to on-site challenges such as increasing sludge treatment costs, limitations of existing dewatering equipment, the energy burden of drying processes, and declining treatment efficiency.
BLUEWIN listened carefully to each visitor’s site conditions and sludge characteristics, and provided consultations on possible applications and process directions suited to each case. Rather than simply introducing its equipment, BLUEWIN discussed practical solutions, including why additional reduction is needed after primary dewatering, how to reduce the burden on downstream drying processes, and how energy and operating costs can potentially be reduced.
One of the most impressive aspects of ENVEX 2026 was that interest in sludge reduction was not limited to a specific industry or specialized field. Visitors from a wide range of sectors, including public sewage treatment, industrial wastewater, resource circulation, drying, and incineration, visited the BLUEWIN booth to find solutions to their sludge treatment challenges. On the final day, students interested in sludge treatment technology also visited the booth and asked questions about ELODE technology and sludge reduction processes, showing strong interest in environmental technology.
Through this exhibition, BLUEWIN once again recognized that the sludge treatment market in Korea is gradually changing. Sludge treatment is no longer simply a matter of dewatering or disposal. It is expanding into an important field of the environmental industry that must consider energy savings, treatment cost reduction, carbon reduction, and the possibility of resource circulation. In particular, as more sites face limitations in achieving sufficient volume reduction through conventional mechanical dewatering alone, the need for secondary dewatering and sludge reduction technologies is becoming increasingly important.
BLUEWIN’s ELODE system is an electro-osmosis-based secondary sludge dewatering and volume reduction system developed to respond to these market changes. It is installed after primary dewatering equipment such as centrifuges, belt presses, and screw presses to further reduce the moisture content and volume of sludge, thereby helping reduce the burden on downstream drying or disposal processes.
