The Strategic Value of the
ELODE
 DEMO & Sole Agency

Why Is a DEMO Necessary?

Organic sludge cannot be treated based on assumptions. Each sludge is different, and the optimal treatment conditions must be identified through actual testing and validation.

Organic sludge is not a standardized material with consistent characteristics. Its properties continuously vary depending on factors such as the region, wastewater characteristics, treatment process, seasonal conditions, influent composition, chemical usage, and microbial environment.

Therefore, operating conditions that have been successfully applied at one site cannot simply be replicated at another site with the expectation of achieving the same results.

The purpose of the ELODE DEMO is not simply to demonstrate the equipment. It is to test the customer’s actual sludge and identify the most effective operating conditions for their specific application.

Even the Same Type of Sewage Sludge Can Have Different Characteristics

To treat sludge effectively, we must first understand its characteristics.

Even within the same country, the same city, or even the same type of wastewater treatment facility, sludge characteristics can vary significantly.

Sludge cannot be evaluated based on moisture content alone. In actual treatment, multiple characteristics interact and influence the overall dewatering performance.

Moisture Content

Initial moisture content and water-binding characteristics

Organic Content

Organic matter and microbial composition

Conductivity

Electrical conductivity and electrochemical responsiveness

Dewaterability

Actual resistance to dewatering and water-removal characteristics

Viscosity

Adhesiveness, flowability, and cake-forming characteristics

Chemical Condition

Type and dosage of coagulants/flocculants and pretreatment conditions

ELODE Optimizes Operating Conditions for Each Sludge Characteristic

ELODE is not designed to treat every sludge under one fixed set of operating conditions.

ELODE is not a one-size-fits-all system that treats every type of sludge using the same voltage, current, treatment time, belt speed, and operating parameters.

The key is to analyze the characteristics of each sludge and identify the most stable and efficient operating range through actual treatment testing.

During the DEMO test, the following parameters are evaluated and optimized:

  • Voltage
  • Current
  • Treatment Time
  • Belt Speed
  • Sludge Feed Rate
  • Sludge Thickness
  • Pressure Conditions
  • Cake Discharge Characteristics
  • Energy Consumption

BLUEWIN Guarantees Performance Based on Verified Data

Performance guarantees begin with on-site validation.

BLUEWIN does not make assumptions about the treatment performance of organic sludge without actual testing.

Because organic sludge characteristics vary from site to site, it is not a responsible engineering approach to guarantee target moisture content, treatment capacity, or energy consumption without first conducting actual sludge tests.

In fact, many customers who have previously installed conventional dewatering or thermal drying systems have experienced situations where the actual on-site performance failed to achieve the originally proposed treatment capacity or target moisture content.

BLUEWIN takes a different approach.

We first test the actual sludge, collect and analyze the performance data, and then use the verified results as the basis for determining the main project design and performance guarantee conditions.

We do not promise first and verify later.
We verify first and promise only what has been proven.

The Beginning of a Successful Project, ELODE DEMO

Test the customer’s actual sludge to establish optimal operating conditions and reliable design data, while verifying performance directly on-site.
The validated data becomes the foundation for main project design and full-scale project implementation.

01
DATA – Defining Project Standards with Actual Sludge

DEMO testing is more than just a demonstration.
Through DEMO testing, we obtain the actual data required for main project design,

from sludge characteristics and operating conditions to treatment performance and energy consumption.

Upstream & Downstream Process Integration Conditions

Through these DEMO tests, we can obtain actual data such as the optimal operating conditions for the sludge, expected treatment capacity, target moisture content, energy consumption, cake characteristics, and downstream process integration requirements.

The verified data becomes the basis for determining the ELODE model selection, number of units required, OPEX, installation configuration, and performance criteria for the main project.

02
PROOF – Prove It in Just 90 Seconds with the Customer’s Own Sludge

Under suitable sludge conditions and optimized operating conditions, ELODE can reduce sludge moisture content from approximately 80% to 60% in about 90 seconds.

The customer can directly observe and verify the actual dewatering performance of their own sludge through the DEMO test, including target moisture content, moisture content reduction, cake condition, and separation characteristics.

03
PROJECT – Turning Verified Data into the Main Project

DEMO data becomes the design basis for the main project.
The field-proven data obtained through DEMO testing serves as a key reference for equipment selection, system configuration, process engineering, and project feasibility assessment.

  • NUMBER OF UNITS
    Required number of units

  • PROCESS ENGINEERING
    Upstream & downstream process design

  • ENERGY & OPEX
Operating cost and energy consumption estimation
  • MAIN PROJECT
    Main project implementation

Based on the test results, the most suitable ELODE model and number of units can be determined for the site, while key project parameters such as target treatment capacity, operating hours, upstream and downstream process configuration, expected energy consumption, and OPEX can be defined in detail.

This enables customers to evaluate the project more clearly based on data verified with their actual sludge, while BLUEWIN and its partners can use the results as the technical basis for detailed engineering and main project design.

For local partners and Sole Agents in particular, the DEMO serves as a field-proven business development platform, allowing them to demonstrate ELODE performance directly at customer sites and convert verified results into new project opportunities and full-scale main projects.
